• World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that about one million people commit suicide each year
• It is the eight leading cause of death for all the US men and the third leading cause of death among young people aged 15-24.
• Its rate increases with age and is reported very high among 65 years and older people.

Men are four times more likely to die from suicide than women. However women report attempting suicide during their lifetime about three times as often as men. The stronger sex has designated to be the victim of failure. If you would like to help the distressed then read the protective factors.
